Little
Green Steps
Little Green Steps is an environmental education
program coordinated by Gosford and Wyong Councils
specifically for pre-schools and early childcare
centres located in the region.
Among other things the program has provided local
centres with water resource kits aimed to assist
centre staff to communicate water wise messages
to very young children. The program set up and
manned water information displays at a number
of centres during 2005.
During 2007 Gosford and Wyong Councils will further
develop the program by providing centres with
a number of resources to assist them in reducing
their water consumption and will also develop
water activities designed for children aged 3-5
years. Environmental educators will run the activities
in the centres and provide advice to staff on
appropriate water sustainability messages for
very young children.
